Abstract

The article examines the multifaceted problem of forming a new national identity of the Republic of Kazakhstan and identifying its markers associated with the processes of anti-Russian sentiments scaling in the media environment. As methodological tools, the authors use socio-philosophical, philosophical-political, socio-cultural and information approaches, and the principles of interdisciplinary methodology. The study of the processes of formation of a new national identity is carried out taking into account the specifics of the political, socio-economic and socio-cultural development of modern Kazakhstan. Conceptually important for the authors is the idea of a two-level structure of national identity: cultural-historical (ethnic) and national-civil. The article will identify 8 markers of the new national identity of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In relation to 4 markers (political eclecticism, demonstrative political sovereignty; religiosity; economicocentrism), [no need in ennumerating] an empirical study of the relationship with the dynamics of anti-Russian sentiment in the media environment is carried out. Network analysis was used as empirical research method, allowing for the study of the resources of the media space of the Republic of Kazakhstan: analysis of data sources, selection of relevant messages according to specified criteria; collecting data and bringing them to a common structure and format; cleaning up posts and comments. A pool of information suitable for the purpose of the study was identified; the tonality of the assessment of the mentioned persons and organizations was revealed. In conclusion of the article, the authors state that Russia needs a restrained reaction to the growing trends of anti-Russian sentiment in the media environment of Kazakhstan and point to the potential of Russian-Kazakh relationship.
